Background Information:
On August 6, 2019, City Council approved Amendment No. 3, extending the WIC contract with HHSC through FY20. This Amendment No. 4 adds to the funding maximum to allow for an increase in the per participant reimbursement rate from $13.76 to $14.18. Unlike most grant programs, WIC does not receive a lump sum at the beginning of each fiscal year; funds must be earned by serving at least the number of clients needed to support expenses.
