Background Information:
A FEMA-approved hazard mitigation plan is required for eligibility for grant funds through FEMA's Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) programs, which include: Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC), Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA), and High Hazard Potential Dams (HHPD) programs. Funds from these federal grant programs may be awarded directly to the participating jurisdictions to implement mitigation projects identified in the Plan Update.
