Background Information:
The Hays County Behavioral Advisory Team (BAT) was created in May 2023 to serve as a single point of advisory, accountability, planning, and resource coordination for all City of San Marcos, City of Kyle and Hays County behavioral health services. Behavioral health, for purposes of this document and the sphere of responsibility of the BAT, is defined as behavioral health and/or chemical dependency.

The BAT exists to leverage resources more effectively, provide more empowered and coordinated representation in the functioning of the local system of care, and to create a leadership collaborative to partner in developing a strong behavioral health care strategy for Hays County.
