Vision San Marcos - A River Runs Through Us

Background Information:

The site is located to the northeast of the San Marcos High School, and is within the area designated as “East Village” on the Preferred Scenario map which is an area envisioned as an “activity node centered around the intersection of Old Bastrop and Hwy 123, East Village will boast a mix of commercial, retail, and service-oriented activity. This area will offer a variety of residential options including single family homes, duplexes, townhomes, and small multifamily projects” per the 2013 Comprehensive Plan “Vision San Marcos” (pg. 72). The annexation service agreement states that the wastewater and water will be provided by the City of San Marcos. The site is located within the service area of Bluebonnet Electric and so the city will not provide electric service for this site. A zoning change application is being considered concurrently to Character District - 5 (ZC-23-10).  At their March 28th meeting, the Planning and Zoning unanimously voted to approve the associated zoning change request.
