Background Information:
Following the construction completion of the Loop 82 Overpass the need for a controlled intersection at the Bobcat Stadium driveway intersection became apparent during football games. Based on a traffic study performed by HDR a signalized intersection is not yet warranted but during football games an alternative of installing a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) has been approved by TxDOT for this location. This area is within TxDOT right-of-way, and the chain of approval has been processed.
On May 26, 2022, the City received two (2) bids for Loop 82 & Bobcat Stadium RRFB
IFB #222-171. Award is recommended to the lowest responsible bidder, Jerdon Enterprise, L.P., from Stafford, Texas in the amount of $82,364.00.
Total construction cost is $82,364.00 and scheduled to begin in early August with a 60-day contract duration to achieve final completion. Substantial completion or when the system is operational is anticipated be about 45 days from start of work. The first Texas State University home game is September 10th and the goal is to be substantially complete by then.
