Background Information:
The Traffic Division of the Public Works Department requires a motorized thermoplastic striping machine capable of handling an increased pavement marking workload that would stripe roadways at higher speeds (up to 7.5 miles per hour) than manual, push machines.
As of today, the Public Works Department maintains 433 lane-miles of roadway. Roadway striping with thermoplastic material generally needs to be refreshed every five years. The motorized, riding striping machine will help our roadway striping crew to maintain the roadway striping in a good and safe condition.
Solicitation 222-185 was issued on May 1, 2022, and one bid was received on May 20, 2022, from Mark Rite Lines Equipment Company, Inc. in the amount of $91,264.00.
Staff recommends award of purchase from Mark Rite Lines Equipment Company.
