Background Information:
WestNet’s First-In Fire State Alerting System is used to assist fire departments in meeting The National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) standards 1221 and 1710 by monitoring alerting functions, lowering response times, improving firefighter health and safety, and providing critical information to responding crews in a more timely fashion. The First-In Alerting Smart station system will be installed in fire stations 1,2,3,4, and 5 via this resolution. The alerting solution for Station 6 is already included in the construction costs allocated for that project.
Pursuant to Local Government Code 271.102, the City has authority to participate in cooperative purchasing programs, therefore staff recommends award of this work to WestNet Inc., Huntington Beach, CA, in the estimated amount of $645,554.44 through the HGACBuy purchasing cooperative contract #EC07-20.
