Background Information:

The San Marcos Code of Ethics requires annual financial disclosures by city officials and council appointees.  The information to be included on financial disclosure forms includes the fair market value of real property, but the code currently provides no definition of that term.  The Ethics Review Commission has recommended a code amendment to define fair market value as the appraised value of the property listed on the most recent appraisal roll of the county in which the property is located.
