BACKGROUND: 

The City of San Marcos has an agreement with the Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP), a public-private partnership, to enhance and diversify the San Marcos area economy by supporting quality growth in targeted sectors of the economy, optimizing the local talent base and promoting San Marcos as a location for business.

 

The current agreement between the City of San Marcos and Greater San Marcos Partnership will end on September 30, 2021. City staff will present a draft proposed agreement for the period beginning October 1, 2021, for continued and enhanced economic development services by GSMP. Feedback and direction received during the work session will be incorporated in an updated agreement to then be brought back for City Council consideration.
