Background Information:

The attached agreement is for the land acquisition of approximately 11.153 Acres of the Myrtle McCarty Estate for $100,000.  Authorization in the amount of $110,000 includes additional funds for closing costs.

 

The City has identified 3 projects that overlap this location; Purgatory Creek 18” Wastewater Main, Bishop & Belvin Improvements and the Purgatory Creek Phase 2 Improvements.  The overlapping ROW needs of all 3 projects were combined and the City will be acquiring the following:

                     0.251 Acres for a Water/Wastewater/Drainage Easement

                     10.492 Acres Fee Simple acquisition for future Purgatory Creek improvements

                     0.41 Acres for Temporary Workspace

 

The Purgatory Creek 18” Wastewater Main will use the temporary workspace to install the new 18” wastewater and the alignment will cross the 10.492 Acre Tract and the 0.251 Acre Easement.  The Bishop & Belvin Improvements project will install a box culvert that will outfall into the 10.492 Acre Tract and will install a smaller outfall on the 0.251 Acre Easement.  The Purgatory Creek Phase 2 Improvements will cross the 10.492 Acre Tract and use this location for stormwater and greenspace connectivity within Purgatory Creek.

 

The Purgatory Creek 18” Wastewater Main ($1.75M+) is currently under design and scheduled to start construction by the end of 2021.  The Bishop & Belvin Improvements ($8M+) is currently under design and scheduled to start construction in 2024.  The Purgatory Creek Phase 2 is currently planned to begin design in 2024.
