Background Information:
A request from a resident was discussed at the Sustainability Committee held on January 29, 2021 to allow specific types of goats to be raised in the city to support urban farming. The committee requested that staff research options. A draft ordinance was presented to the Sustainability Committee on March 29, 2021 and staff was directed to bring to a full council session for discussion.
The proposed ordinance allows for miniature goats (Pygmy or Dwarf) goats to be allowed in the city. There are requirements speaking to what would be or would not be allowed.
