Background Information:
During the regular meeting of the San Marcos City Council on January 19, 2021, a majority of the Council expressed support for drafting a letter to the Governor requesting his office either take stronger measures related to slowing the spread of COVID-19 or allow cities and counties to promulgate emergency orders that fit the unique challenges faced by those entities.

The City Council will have an opportunity to provide input regarding the contents of such a letter.

A copy of a letter previously sent to Governor Abbott, as directed by the City Council at a special meeting on June 18, 2020, is attached as background information and to provide a starting point for council's deliberations.
