Youth Master Plan

Background Information:

Following the unexpected departure of the Youth Services Director that was hired the Summer of 2020 the Core 4 Policy Group met on December 3, 2020 to discuss the need to extend the funding agreement that was approved on March 3, 2020.

All Core 4 partners agreed that the Joint Funding agreement needed to be effective for two years from the date of hire for the newly selected Youth Services Director to ensure their success and ability to provide the deliverables necessary to meet the goals of Youth Master Plan and the needs of the San Marcos Community.

The new Youth Services Director began work on January 25, 2021 so the new term date of the Joint Funding agreement will be January 25, 2023.

The joint funding agreement has been amended as follows:

Define the Core 4 Policy Group

Define the Core 4 Task Force which replaced the San Marcos Commission on Children and Youth which has been dissolved.

Any mention of the San Marcos Commission on Children and Youth or “the Commission” has been struck and/or replaced with the Core 4 Task Force.

The two-year term is stated to begin on the date of hire of the Youth Services Director.

The City of San Marcos will continue to fund 50% of this position and the other three entities equally funding the balance.

The anticipated cost to Core 4 partners remains a not to exceed amount of $20,000 per year.

While all entities will work with the Youth Services Director, the City of San Marcos will continue to be the contracting agent with Community Action Inc of Central Texas.
