Background Information:
The San Marcos Regional Airport (KHYI) is a 1,393-acre public-use, general aviation reliever facility strategically located halfway between Austin and San Antonio. Originally part of Gary Air Field, a World War II Army Air Corps training base, the airport was deeded to the city of San Marcos in 1966.
The San Marcos Regional Airport is in need of a vendor to paint necessary airfield markings on the three (3) asphalt runways, on an as-needed basis.
A solicitation was issued November 29, 2020 and advertised as required including notifying all related Historically Underutilized Businesses in Hays County. Three (3) bids were received on December 17, 2020 and Hi-Lite Airfield Services, LLC., Watertown, NY, was determined to be the lowest responsive bidder.
This request is to award a contract to Hi-Lite Airfield Services, LLC, for an estimated annual amount of $75,000 for airfield runway markings on an as-needed basis and to include three (3) optional extensions, for a total estimated contract amount of $300,000 over four (4) years.
