Background Information:

The Wallace Addition Offsite Drainage Improvements project will address the significant amount of stormwater that enters the neighborhood from Staples Road.  The original contract scope for preliminary engineering is complete, which defined the scope for final design and construction services.  A map of the proposed improvements is attached.

This anticipated Change in Service #1 is requested to the professional services contract with BGE, Inc. in the amount of $515,447.00 to provide engineering design and bidding phase services for the Wallace Addition Offsite Drainage Improvements project.

This change in service covers developing final construction plans and specifications, and bid phase services for approximately 3,000 linear feet of reinforced concrete box culverts and associated stormwater collection system from Staples Road within a new drainage easement outfall along AE Wood State Fish Hatchery property to the San Marcos River. Also, approximately 1,000 linear feet of new concrete channel will be constructed to replace the existing grass channel with beings at Staples Road and runs parallel to Tampico Street and then Cape Road downstream to Flores Street. Cape Road will also be reconstructed from Monterrey Street to Flores Street including sidewalk.

The project is scheduled for construction in fall 2022 pending Easements/ROW acquisition
