Background Information:

This request is for award of Phase 2 FF&E (furniture, fixtures & equipment) for the Library renovations and additions currently under construction.  During the early project planning for this project, it was determined that the City would provide the FF&E rather than require it to be part of the general contractor’s scope thus receiving better pricing through cooperatives and avoiding paying the general contractor’s markup.  Pursuant to the authority granted by Local Government Code 271 Subchapter D, the City has sought bids from the following cooperatives and award is based on proposed discounted rates.

Phase 2 FF&E is for four (4) separate purchases from specialized library furnishings vendors offering discounted rates through cooperatives, Choice Partners, TxMAS, Buyboard, TIPS, Omnia, and NIPA as follows:

Choice Partners: Library Interiors of Texas (Estey):  60% discount

Choice Partners: Library Interiors of Texas (Worden): 43% discount

Choice Partners: Library Interiors of Texas (3Branch): 30% discount

TxMAS: McCoy Rockford (KI): 52% discount

Choice Partners: McCoy Rockford (Arcadia): 49.5% discount

Choice Partners: McCoy Rockford (Davis):  44.5% discount

BuyBoard: McCoy Rockford (Agati):                      45% discount

BuyBoard: McCoy Rockford (Allemuir): 51% discount

In order to maintain the critical path schedule for the library renovations & additions construction project, Phase 2 furnishings is anticipated for delivery and installation in April 2021.
