Background Information:
In an effort to provide additional transparency and planning efficacy related to City Council meetings, Staff is requesting that the Council consider approval of a Council Meeting Schedule for 2021.
The City Council began adopting an annual meeting calendar following the approval of Proposition E of the 2017 Charter Election which reduced the required number of regular meetings from 24 per year to 22 per year.
Sec. 3.09. - Meetings of the city council.
The city council shall hold twenty-two regular meetings at a minimum each year at a time to be fixed by it for such regular meetings, and may hold as many additional meetings during the month as may be necessary for the transaction of the business of the city and its citizens.
Setting a Regular meeting calendar allows for Council, Staff and the public to have a snapshot of when Council will hold their Regular Meetings and Budget Workshops in the upcoming year.
