Background Information:
At the April 21, 2020 Special City Council meeting, Director Stapp informed Council that the issue related to restaurant inspections and permit fee modifications as a result of COVID-19 closures would be brought to Council for further discussion and direction. Local food establishments, like many other businesses, are feeling the financial impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Some food establishments are either shut down or operating under a very limited model. Staff recommends instituting a quarterly payment plan that would allow owners of food establishments to remit permit and inspection fees over time rather than all at once.
