Background Information:
This item is for the approval of preliminary engineering services with Cobb, Fendley & Associates for CIP project #C415- Reconstruction of Downtown Alleys.
The “Reconstruction of Downtown Alleys” is a multi-year phased Capital Improvement Project for the reconstruct of downtown alleys, including drainage improvements and utility replacements as necessary. This first project will focus on the reconstruction of the alley between LBJ and Guadalupe from Hopkins to University (approximately 900 ft.) The preliminary project design will evaluate concepts Identified in the 2018 Main Street Advisory Board/Burditt planning grant for the redevelopment of Kissing Alley. The use of permeable pavers as part of drainage improvements will also be evaluated. Assistance in this evaluation will be provided by the Meadows Foundation.
Based upon the results of the Preliminary Engineering Report, a Change in Service for preparation of construction plans and construction phase services will be developed.
