Background Information:
On April, 17 2018, the City Council amended Chapter 34 of the Code of Ordinances to create a long term rental registration section. Sec 34.822 required all rental properties to register prior to January 1, 2020 and stipulated that the initial registration was effective until January 1, 2021. The City Council Rental Registration Subcommittee has met with staff to discuss the ordinance intentions an ongoing issues related to rental registration. It was agreed that the effective dates requiring registration should be pushed out an additional year for further discussion and action related to the overall ordinance.
