Background Information
:

On October 16, 2018, City Council appointed Judge Dallari Landry as Presiding Judge for the San Marcos Municipal Court and Judge John Burke as an Associate Judge.  In order to provide greater flexibility for the Court, Council has requested that Judge Vincent Luizzi be made an additional Associate Municipal Court Judge.  Judge Luizzi has previously served in this capacity and is interested in assisting the Court when needed.

The State Law regarding municipal court judges, Texas Government Code § 30.00006(d), requires that the term of office for municipal court judges be for a definite term of two or four years.  Chapter 55 of the San Marcos City Code contains provisions governing the operation of the Municipal Court. Section 55.03 of the City Code provides that the presiding and associate judges be appointed for a term of two years.
