Background Information:
The Hays County Narcotics Task Force was created in 1998 as a way of sharing resources and intelligence to investigate narcotics and vice related offenses. The interlocal agreement grants the members of the task force the legal authority to investigate narcotic and vice related offenses in all areas of Hays County. This cooperative effort maximizes resources and enhances the effectiveness of both agencies by allowing detectives from both agencies to function as one department. Staff from Hays County who prepared the interlocal could not provide a red line document showing changes because the document had to be recreated from scratch. Attachment A summarizes the changes from the prior version.
