Background Information:
Both Canyon and San Marcos substation control buildings flood during major events, creating significant risks to equipment damage and mis-operations that will affect system reliability. Moving the protection and control systems from the existing buildings into the new, elevated LCRA control buildings was a capital outlay request approved by Council during the FY19 budget process. Additionally, the project to replace the distribution breakers and relay panels at the Canyon substation was combined into this project to avoid overlapping scopes.
