Background Information:

The City is authorized by the Local Government Code, Chapter 271, and by the “Interlocal Cooperation Act”, Texas Government Code, Chapter 791, to participate in cooperative purchasing programs to increase efficiency and effectiveness of local government procurement and contracting.

The City of Plano has awarded a contract for Annual Medical Evaluations for Plano Fire-Rescue to Life Extension Clinics, Inc., DBA Life Scan Wellness Centers of Tampa, Florida.  The City of San Marcos Fire Department would also like to utilize this contract for Annual Medical Evaluations for the City’s Fire/EMS staff.  In order for the City of San Marcos to utilize the City of Plano agreement, the City of San Marcos must enter into an interlocal agreement with the City of Plano and obtain City Council approval for the interlocal agreement.
