Background Information:
Tractor and Rotary Mower: The Community Services Department, Parks and Recreation Division is purchasing a tractor to replace a John Deer Tractor that was loaned to the airport several years ago. The rotary mower is a replacement of a 20-year old Alamo shredder. These purchases are being made from Dietz Tractor Company, Seguin, Texas, through competitive bidding, (IFB 219-184) received on March 14, 2019. Staff recommends award to the lowest responsive responsible bidder who provides the best value to the City.
Manure Spreader: The Community Services Department, Parks and Recreation Division is purchasing a manure spreader to replace a spreader that is over 20-years old and no longer functions properly. This purchase is being made from ABI Attachments, Inc, Mishawaka, Indiana, through competitive bidding (IFB 219-194) received on March 13, 2019. Staff recommends award to the lowest responsive responsible bidder who provides the best value to the City.
Tandem Roller: The Community Services Department, Parks and Recreation Division is purchasing a new tandem roller that will be used to assist in maintaining the baseball and softball fields and various trails. This purchase is being made from Kinloch Equipment & Supply, San Antonio, Texas, through the Texas Local Government Purchasing Cooperative BuyBoard Contract #515-16.
The City is authorized by Texas Local Government Code Chapter 271.102 to participate in cooperative purchasing programs to procure goods and services, satisfying any state law requiring the local government to seek competitive bids.
This equipment is to be financed by U.S. Bancorp for the total amount of $72,742.93, including interest in the amount of $4,353.09. The approval of the amendment to the master finance purchase agreement with U.S. Bancorp Government Leasing and Finance, Inc is on June 18, 2019 City Council agenda.
