Background Information:
This design contract is combining two CIP projects for project efficiency and economy of scale. Originally anticipated as a wastewater replacement project, it has been expanded to include the Linda Lane Improvements project. Construction will be accomplished with two projects.
The project design includes the following components:
• Replacement of approximately 7,000 feet of sewer main from the City’s main lift station along Linda Drive north east to near the McCoy’s headquarters building. This sewer is in a heavily deteriorated condition and needs replacement.
• Storm water improvements replacing and extending the existing insufficient system along Linda Drive and Sherbarb Avenue. Required improvements were identified in the stormwater masterplan.
• Water system improvements to upsize existing water mains and complete a loop to improve system reliability.
• Other street improvements to replace broken curb and gutter and driveways.
• Sidewalk extension along Linda Drive from Sherbarb St. to River Road.
• Construction phase services for both projects.
In 2017, the City issued solicitation #217-247 for the purpose of selecting qualified engineering firms to provide on-call professional engineering services for the CDBG-DR program. LNV, Inc., was selected from the approved on-call list.
Construction is estimated at $5,400,000 for the two projects. The first project is expected to go to construction in FY 2022.
