Background Information:
A) Citizen Utility Advisory Board
An ordinance was recently brought before Council amending the composition of the Citizen Utility Advisory Board. We are seeking appointments to fill the following positions: (1) citizens at large and endeavor to appoint (3) members with experience as a licensed professional engineer, experience in the operation and management of public utility systems or education and experience in finance or accounting.(1) City Council Member
We have three applicants that fit the experience in utility systems, finance/accounting, and an at large member roles. There is currently one at large member that is seated on the board. There will be one vacancy that remains, but we will fill this role as more applicants apply.
Applicants include:
1. Gabriel Garcia - Has served 2 consecutive Terms, but has a great deal of knowledge that is exceptionally beneficial because he has, experience in the operation and management of public utility systems.
2. Keely Sonlitner - Citizen-at-large
3. Gloria Fortin - Finance/Accounting
4. Council Member
B) Convention and Visitor Bureau Board
There is also a vacancy for the Texas State Athletic Representative.
Josh Keller has been nominated to serve in this role and we are asking Council to confirm this appointment.
We have a vacancy in the Hotel with less than 90 Rooms position due to the previous appointee relocating.
Sunit Patel is the only applicant for this position.
C) Parks and Recreation Board
After appointments were made on February 5th, I was informed that Margaret Crittenden resigned. This term is set to expire February 28, 2022.
