Background Information:
An Advanced Funding Agreement (AFA) is required between the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the City of San Marcos (City) for improvements to Guadalupe Street from University Drive to Grove Street; including bike lanes and revised on-street parking layout; construction of TIRZ funded sidewalk improvements along the east side of Guadalupe between MLK Drive and Railroad Tracks; signal adjustment and/or improvements at intersections along Guadalupe Street to accommodate cyclists; and improvements at the Guadalupe Street/Grove Street intersection.
TxDOT is planning to mill and overlay Loop 82 from University Drive to IH35. With their project TxDOT will stripe for two travel lanes. This restripe to a consistent section will allow the City to follow the TxDOT project with the other improvements. TxDOT mill and overlay project letting is scheduled for February 2019 with possible mill and overlay in summer of 2019. The estimated total payment by the City to TxDOT is $26,777.00.
