Background Information:

On March 20. 2018 the City Council received a presentation and held a discussion regarding the Ethics Review Commission’s recommended amendments to the San Marcos Code of Ethics.  Council deferred further discussion regarding the ERC’s proposal to regulate lobbyists and lobbing activities to a work session to be held in January of 2019.  At this work session council will have an opportunity to discuss and decide if there is a need at this time to regulate lobbying in San Marcos and provide direction to staff, if necessary, regarding this matter.
