Background Information:
• City staff applied for planning funds during the TXDOT-PTN’s 2018 Coordinated Call for Projects - February 2018
• City staff notified of the successful completion of application and award of planning funds by TXDOT - June 2018
• City council passed a resolution naming the City as the Direct Recipient for the San Marcos urbanized area - August 2018
• City council directed staff to continue the Coordinated Transit Plan (CTP) Phase II
• CTP Phase II to provide recommendations for the City/University to create a seamless transit system with greater access for all citizens
• CTP to explore best practice coordinated transit models to include:
– Benefits and challenges of a coordinated transit system
– Recommendations for coordinated transit system funding, operations, capital funding, governance, and federal compliance
– Adequate timing for transition to a coordinated transit system
There is not a City funded match required.
