Airport Master Plan
Background Information:
The City’s last Master Plan was prepared in 2001 and now requires an update to plan for future growth and development of the airport. The San Marcos Regional Airport is the only Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) designated reliever airport for both the Austin-Bergstrom and San Antonio International Airports. The City has negotiated with TxDOT Aviation to manage the master plan project. At the conclusion of the project the City will be able to seek 90% reimbursement for the project costs.
On June 21, 2018, the City received two (2) Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) in response to RFQ 218-171 for San Marcos Regional Airport Master Plan Update. A City staffed committee evaluated both SOQs resulting in the unanimous selection of Garver, located in San Antonio, Texas, as the most highly qualified firm based on demonstrated competence and qualifications. A fair and reasonable price has been negotiated and award is recommended in the amount of not to exceed $300,000.
