Background Information:
The previous 10-year agreement with LCRA to provide a regional trunked radio system has expired. This Agreement #218-384 authorizes the City of San Marcos to participate in the interlocal agreement with LCRA to provide communications equipment, facilities and technical services required for the installation and operation of dispatchable mobile radio equipment. The agreement will assist multiple City departments with deploying and maintaining radio communications for public safety operations, inter local response to catastrophic or large-scale incidents or natural disasters and radio communications coordination support for local state and federal agencies in the State.
This agreement term is initially for three (3) years and shall automatically renew for successive one (1) year periods unless terminated by either party.
The new total monthly fees funded from multiple City departments is approximately $13,000 for a total annual estimate of $133,000.00. Estimated amount due from prior contract is $33,000. This contract also includes $1.2 for capital equipment which is bond-funded from project C490.
