Background Information:
Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 143.006 outlines the appointment of Commissioners to the Civil Service Commission. This appointment is made by the City Manager with confirmation of the City Council. The City Manager has appointed Kathy Martinez-Prather to a three-year term subject to confirmation of the City Council. City staff feels Mrs. Prather is more than qualified to hold this position. Her qualifications are attached to this agenda item.
