Master Plan: Habitat Conservation Master Plan

Background Information:
At the May 15, 2018 City Council Meeting, City staff was directed by Council to present the Loquat Road closure alternatives and explain why the closure was recommended.

Watershed Protection Division requested the closure of Loquat based on the Sessom Stream Assessment recommendation as part of stream restoration strategy. Staff has also coordinated with Fire and Police to assess impacts to emergency response. The findings from both the Stream & Public Safety Assessments will be presented for Council. Previous coordination with TxState will also be provided.

In 2013, the City hired RPS Espey to evaluate Sessom Creek from Canyon Road to Aquarena Springs Drive. In this report, RPS Espey identified several conceptual level solutions. The highest priority project, according to this report, is to relocate the exposed wastewater trunk main in Sessom Creek from N.LBJ to Canyon Road.
