Background Information:
The purpose of this presentation is to discuss the strategies proposed to achieve the major outcomes identified in the City's strategic initiative for workforce housing. The three outcomes of this initiative include:
* Increasing the rate of home ownership,
* Assembling a leadership team, and
* Maintaining existing workforce housing in safe conditions
In addition to discussing the strategies this presentation will identify the upcoming policy decisions related to workforce housing including:
* Modifications to the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Policy
* Modifications to the City's current homebuyer loan program
* The proposed Housing Study
* Application for federal HOME funds.
