Background Information:
The Texas Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (“BuyBoard”) has awarded a contract #521-16 for Vehicles, Heavy Duty Trucks, Police Motorcycles, Parts, and Service Labor to Cowboy Motor Company located in Silsbee, Texas. This process is authorized by the Texas Government Code, Title 10, Subtitle D, Section 2155.504(b) and the Local Government Code, Section 271.101.
Through this BuyBoard contract, we are purchasing ten (10) 2018 Dodge Charger Police Vehicles from Cowboy Motor Company for the Police Department in the total amount of $221,766.00. This is equal to approximately $22,176.60 per vehicle.
This expense is just for the purchase of the vehicles. There will be additional expense for the purchase and installation of required equipment once the vehicles are received by the Police Department.
All ten units are to replace the Ford Crown Victoria sedans, which age from 2009 to 2011.
