Background Information:
Hays County is currently in the process of implementing the results of their last bond election. The majority of that election was related to the construction or expansion of their Fleet Services Facility, Jail, a Training Facility as well as a Public Safety Building which will encompass the Sheriff, 911/PSAP, and Emergency Services functions of the County. There will be significant impact fees related to this project in the estimated amount of $400,486. The County is requesting that these fees be waived by the City. Because the City of San Marcos directly and indirectly benefits from these facilities, city staff is recommending that these fees be waived.
