Background Information
:

The San Marcos Police Department Victim Services program is staffed by one full-time coordinator, one full-time advocate, and several volunteers.  The advocate position was created with funding received in 2017 by the Officer of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division through a one-year grant similar to this one. This program has been grant-funded since its inception, and this grant application would allow the department to continue to fund the majority of the cost of the advocate position with grant money for the next two years.  The grant will require a 20% cash or in-kind match.  The department would meet this requirement by providing in-kind contributions to the programs such as supplies, vehicle expenses, and salary contribution.

This resolution corrects an error on Resolution 2018-14R that was approved on February 6, 2018.  The previously approved Resolution approved for a grant in an amount not to exceed $70,000 for two more years.  It should have stated $70,000 per year for two more years.
