Background Information:
On January 4, 2018, the City received three (3) bids for Craddock Avenue Medians Project (IFB 218-023). According to the terms and conditions of the bid, the City has the right to award a contract on the basis of lowest total base bid, or lowest total base bid minus deduction alternate plus additive alternate #1, or base bid plus additive alternate #2.
The Community Services Department has reviewed all bids and recommends awarding a contract to the lowest and most responsive and responsible bidder, Maldonado Nursery and Landscaping, Inc., located in San Antonio, Texas, for the base bid in the amount of $262,847.81.
The planned substantial completion is one hundred twenty (120) calendar days from the project start date, and the planned final completion is one hundred eighty (180) calendar days from the project start date.
The scope of work for this project consists of removing old fill and plant material between Old Ranch Road 12 and Bishop Street, totaling approximately 23,178 square feet. The proposed new design, ornate and intricate, will combine native Hill Country plantings with accent representation of the San Marcos River in a pebble mosaic.
