Background Information:
An existing 6-inch clay wastewater line on San Antonio St between Wilson St. and Johnson Ave. collapsed on December 29, 2017. The collapse occurred while the Public Services Department was investigating a blockage called in by a resident. A temporary repair was made but an immediate full replacement is necessary due to the deteriorated condition of the pipe. If left unrepaired/replaced the line is highly likely to collapse again.
Rocking Q Construction LLC is currently working on the Reclaimed Water Expansion Project and will be adding this to their scope of work. A change order will be processed in the amount of $78,792.35 to replace the existing main with an 8” PVC pipe. All existing lateral services to each house on San Antonio St. between Wilson St. and Johnson Ave will be replaced as well. This is considered an emergency situation and work is scheduled to start the week of 1/29/18. A ratification to Rocking Q’s original construction contract for the Reclaimed Water Expansion Project is proposed due to the urgent nature of this situation.
