Background Information:
On December 7, 2017, the City received five (5) bids for the Public Services Renovations project (IFB 218-022). According to the terms and conditions of the bid, the City has the right to award a contract on the basis of lowest total bid. The Community Services Department’s Facilities Division has reviewed the bids and will award a contract to the lowest bidder, The Fence Lady, Inc., located in Boerne, Texas, in the amount of $45,509.50.
Although the bid amount is less than $50,000, we are taking this to City Council for approval proactively in the event any change orders will be needed. This will allow work to continue seamlessly without any interruptions.
The scope of work for this project includes the installation of new flooring, ceilings, and paint. This is the second phase of renovation of the Public Services Building to coordinate with the work previously completed in the first phase so the building décor is consistent throughout with a more modern and professional appearance. This second phase is estimated to take approximately sixty (60) calendar days to reach final completion.
