BACKGROUND: 

 

On August 15, 2017 council approved, by motion, a statement of position and direction to staff regarding implementation of SB4 pertaining to the enforcement of immigration laws by local police departments.  Council’s motion on that date also directed staff to place the statement of position and direction on its next regular meeting agenda for adoption by resolution.
