BACKGROUND:
Resolution 2014-162 was approved by Council on December 8, 2014 to award a contract to CompassCom Software Inc. for Automatic Vehicle Locator licensing, software and maintenance in the amount of $99,075.00. This contract covered all Police Dept. vehicles.
CompassCom Software Corp. is the City’s Automatic Vehicle Locator (AVL) software vendor. The original contract covered all Police Dept. vehicles. This Change in Service will include the remaining city vehicles and equipment with the exclusion of Fire Dept. vehicles/equipment. To-date, the Fire Dept. is evaluating additional technology to provide WIFI coverage while on scene.
The Change in Service includes the following vehicle/equipment count per fund: General Fund - 86, Electric - 27, Water - 53 and remote installation support for a total of $79,133.00.
The City is opting in on purchasing two years of software maintenance for $5,148.00.
