CITY COUNCIL GOAL: Quality of Life and Place

BACKGROUND:
In September 2014, the Annexation/Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) Management Strategy was adopted by City Council. Subsequently, the Annexation/ETJ Review Team, comprised of multiple City departments, met on April 1, 2015 to finalize potential areas for annexation to bring forward for direction from City Council. After reviewing the Rolling Annexation Candidate List as laid out in the annexation strategy, the attached map "Candidate Areas for Annexation" was created along with a list of property owners. At the June 2, 2015 City Council Meeting, Planning staff presented these candidate areas for annexation along with a tentative schedule for annexation. City Council directed city staff to move forward with the Annexation process.

Per the Texas Local Government Code, personal notice sent by Certified Mail has been provided to all affected property owners and public entities 30 days in advance of this public hearing. Additional personal notice has been provided to each developed residential property through door hangars. The first public hearing for annexation was held at the July 7th, 2015 City Council meeting at which time Council directed staff to remove "Area 15," Briarwood, from the 1st Year Annex...
