BACKGROUND:
The Texas Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (BuyBoard) has awarded a contact #432-13 for Public Safety, Fire House Supply & Equipment & Traffic Signals to Paradigm Traffic Systems, Inc., located in Arlington, Texas. This purchase for Traffic Signal Battery Back-Up Units is for the Public Services Department, Transportation Division. The cost of each Traffic Signal Battery Back-Up Unit is $5,000, less a BuyBoard discount of $600 per unit. Therefore, the total cost of all units is $118,800.
This is for the purchase of twenty-seven (27) Traffic Signal Battery Back-Up Units to provide back-up power supply to traffic signal controllers when there is a power outage at the intersections shown on the attached map as determined by the Public Services Department - Transportation Division. The cost of the units also includes installation and classroom training in addition to the equipment.
The attached map illustrates the planned locations for each of the Traffic Signal Battery Back-Up Units.
