BACKGROUND:
This discussion item was placed on the agenda at the request of Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott and Council Member Thomason.
A copy of Section 2.044 of the San Marcos City Code is attached. Under the ordinance, the city manager is responsible for processing agenda materials for city council meetings. Section 2.044(a).
The mayor or two council members may direct the staff to place a discussion item on an agenda for a city council meeting or workshop. Section 2.044(c). This provision has been in place since 2004. Ordinance No. 2004-43.
