BACKGROUND:
City Council received a presentation from Texas Aviation Partners on August 18, 2015 regarding two documents relating to the operation of the San Marcos Regional Airport ("Airport") that need to be updated. This agenda item seeks Council approval of proposed amendments to the ordinance governing activities at the Airport. This ordinance has not been revised since 1970.
As part of grant assurances associated with receiving funding from the Federal Aviation Association (FAA), the Airport is required to maintain current rules and regulations. The City codifies the airport rules and regulations in Chapter 10 of the City Code. The codified rules and regulations ensure consistent rules of conduct for all pilots and patrons, whether based on the airfield or visiting the airport.
