BACKGROUND:
On October 16, 2014, the City received thirteen (13) bids for the Loop Street Water Line Improvements Project (IFB 215-002). The design engineer, William B Moriarty, P.E., of King Engineering Associates, Inc., has reviewed the bids and recommends awarding a contract for the base bid and additive alternate bid #1 to the low bidder, M&C Fonseca Construction Co., Inc., located in Granite Shoals, Texas, in the amount of $725,198.60.
Local bidder preference law does not apply to this type of contract.
The project scope includes the installation of approximately 5,600 linear feet (LF) of 8" water main along Loop Street, Hazelton, and Alto Street. The estimated construction time is sixty-five (65) working days.
