Background Information:
After nearly ten years of effort the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has issued new Flood Insurance Rate Maps and Studies for Hays County and a majority of the San Marcos city limits. Chapter 39, of the City's Code of Ordinances, is the Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance which establishes the City's regulations and responsibilities for managing areas of special flood hazards.
