Airport Master Plan


Background Information:
In April 2021 the City adopted its updated Airport Master Plan. This plan established the foundation for airport growth and identified priorities such as extending Runway 17/35, improving taxiways, and strengthening existing infrastructure. The plan is also a federal requirement to ensure continued eligibility for FAA and TxDOT Aviation grant funding.

Since its adoption, the fleet mix at the airport has shifted to include larger aircraft, and there is growing interest in potential future air carrier service. These changes prompted the need to update specific portions of the plan rather than conduct a full re-write.
